FAQs

  • First and foremost, my clients are the most important part of their wedding story. I want to know your story, so that I can weave that into the bespoke florals I design.

When a client decides to book with me, I crop plan for their specific event, and for any gaps due to space constraints, or time limits, I will work with other small flower farms in the area to source local, high quality blooms. I rarely source from a wholesaler, as I’m passionate about local flowers, and supporting other small businesses.

Having grown my own flowers for the past few seasons, I’ve learned the intimate details of how the flowers grow, vase tested them, experimented with the limits of the flowers, have a deep understanding of seasonality, and how our wonderful climate can allow us to grow something seasonably appropriate just about year round.

I also pride myself on keeping up with the latest research and knowledge available to growers as a member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.

  • Having started in floral design over 15 years ago, I’ve experienced the basics of floral shop management, inventory planning, and floral design basics.

As an floral artist, I’ve developed a solid understanding of design principals and appropriate mechanics; understanding the relationship of color, texture, and movement which allows me to create unique and bespoke designs that create excitement and delight.

I invest heavily in my design education; attending design workshops with world renowned designers which allow me to bring that experience to my clients. By continuing to keep up with industry trends, I’m always working to approach my artistry with modern elements, and always with an eye towards sustainable floral design.

  • I always have an eye for sustainability.

In my growing practices, I do not use any chemicals, rather a fish and kelp emulsion for foliar feeding, and top dressings of bone meal and calcium. If a pest or disease impacts a crop, I will cull the crop instead of spraying chemicals.

In my design practices, I absolutely refuse to use floral foam. Instead, I explore alternative methods, using Oshun Pouches and I’m starting to explore the use of Agra Wool for pieces where it makes sense. I also utilize chicken wire wrapped moss, which can be reused for years upon end. My first goal is always compostable (biodegradable is not the same thing), and then I move into reusables before I use recyclable.

For installations, a breakdown fee is included, which allows me to return to the venue to collect the materials that can be reused, or recycled. This eliminates the responsibility from the client after their event, which is helpful for the client with an equal interest in sustainability.

Lastly, I will not take work that requires the use of spray painted or bleached products.

  • Yes, I love to travel!

While destination locations out of state are not currently an option for me, I will travel to SF Bay Area, Napa, and Tahoe locations to make your wedding floral visions come to life!

Travel fees will include overnight stays, and mileage.

  • I do not offer packages, as each couple is unique, and I want to tailor their designs to their needs. I do not have minimums, although I do respect, and maintain, the industry standards of pricing.

As an artist, I find the most interesting work to be the type that doesn’t box the client into specifics, rather allows us to both explore what’s possible within a given budget.

  • YES!!! I love elopements, and fully support couples who are looking for a smaller more intimate experience. Get started by filling out the wedding form, and simply note that you’re looking for elopement designs.

  • Yes! I happily support getting local flowers into our community, and will provide DIY buckets to my clients.

There is no minimum spend for this service, although you will need to expect the buy in traditional quantities; most commonly bunches of 10 stems.

Also, for this option, unless contacted before the current growing season, I cannot guarantee any particular flowers, but do my best to work within certain color palettes whenever possible.

Choosing this option is not appropriate for those who want to control what flowers they will get, and should consider the a la carte service instead.

  • Yes and no…

I respect and honor budgets, but in an effort to respect the time and effort that goes into each event, I will not allow other designs to be part of the event. This is to assure consistency, and honor the effort I’ve put into conceptualizing your vision.

However, if couples are doing centerpieces of bud vases, I will allow DIY buckets for those designs as a cost saving effort.

I will not allow flowers from other designers, family members who may have a floral talent, or love to craft DIY.

  • Unfortunately, unless you are purchasing DIY buckets, I cannot allow designs to be picked up from the farm.

The reason behind this is the quality I demand of my designs. I have a cooler that I keep all cut flowers and designs in, and this is the safest place for them until the event day.

Delivery fees are very reasonable, and fair, always calculated on the federal mileage + time.

  • I only take one wedding per weekend, so I can focus on that client entirely.

If you have hired a wedding coordinator, please put us in contact ASAP. Otherwise, I often work with you as the client, and your photographer, to decide when certain floral items are delivered.

I will personally deliver, and set up, your items at your venue(s). I consider the entire vision to be part of my art, so while I might have freelancers for very large events, I personally show up for each client, and greet them to deliver personals, as well as wish them well.

It’s my honor to see your eyes light up when you see your designs, so I plan my day around making sure I’m there to support you.

If you’ve ordered an installation, I will return the following day to remove the installation, but I cannot return the evening after the event.

  • This is a common concern amongst clients, which I’ve worked to meet through multiple avenues.

I offer bouquet pressing services for the client who wants to retain their design for years to come.

For others, I offer a collection program that will allow clients to donate their stems to local non-profits.

One non-profit I work with will disassemble the designs, and arrange them into smaller designs for hospice patients. Another non-profit I work with, will recieve designs that I’ve disassembled, and bunched up for distribution to home bound seniors who would not have the opportunity, or funding, to access beautiful blooms.

For clients interested in either of these options, a discount of 3% will be applied to the final invoice.
